As an animal lover, what is your spirit animal?  

Cass:  

“Hmm…it’s tough to choose just one, but anyone that knows me would probably say a cat, specifically a black leopard since I am fierce, usually dressed in black, and a creature of the night.”  

If you had to eat one thing for a month, what would it be?  

“I basically lived on solely on Cheez-It crackers while at university, so I believe I could do that again, that and hot-sauce.” 

What is one of the most important events in your life? 

“Recovery. The first time I was hospitalized due to my addiction I remember thinking “Man, this is my new low” and that “it would never happen again”. I was wrong. I could go lower, a little deeper each time, and the climb back up was increasingly becoming more difficult. I realized that at some point, I might not make it back to the light outside the hole and needed to do something different. That is when I found recovery, not just sobriety, and a vital difference was community. I would not be successful in recovery without my supportive community, and nobody should have to do this alone.”
