Charlie is a national behavioral health leader whose purpose is to harness the knowledge, expertise, and innovation to advance the country’s behavioral health system of care. Charlie is a licensed Psychologist with over 30 years of clinical, research and leadership experience in the fields of forensic psychology, addiction, rehabilitation, crisis intervention, collaborative care, workforce development and federal and state government administration. Presently, Charlie serves as the Director/Behavioral Health Lead for Guidehouse, a large international managing consulting firm, leading multiple state and local government projects focused on enhancing public mental health and substance use disorder programs and policies. Prior to joining Guidehouse, Charlie served as the Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as well as Senior Policy Advisor for the 988 Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office. Charlie’s distinguished career also includes serving as the Director/Commissioner for the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health, Director of Community Mental Health Programs and Mental Health Services for the Colorado Department of Corrections, as well as practicing psychologist in a multitude of forensic, hospital, community, and college settings.
