Peer Recovery Coach

Lindsay Gianola

My name is Lindsay Gianola, and I am a Peer Recovery Coach in the Foothills-Gilpin Office of Advocates for Recovery. I’ve called Gilpin County home since 2017.

I was introduced to Advocates for Recovery Colorado during my first treatment program and immediately knew I had found both community and purpose. Peer support has played a major role in my own recovery. In October 2024, I completed the Peer & Family Support Training, and I’m currently working toward my Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS) certification. I joined the AFR team as a Peer Recovery Coach in May 2025.

I’ve been in active and sustained recovery from alcohol since 2024, but my journey began back in 2014 after my first treat,em—my first attempt at making a change. Over the years, I’ve had multiple detox and treatment stays related to both mental health and substance use. Since 2024, I’ve been able to maintain my recovery and build a life rooted in growth, connection, and healing.

I am also a mom in recovery. I have a 15-year-old daughter, and it’s important to me that she sees what it means to take accountability and keep showing up with honesty and strength. I want to be an example of growth, not perfection—someone who chooses healing even when it’s hard. Recovery has helped me become the kind of parent she can trust and look up to.

I love art and am an avid potter and artist. I believe creativity brings life back into the healing process, and I’m excited to bring that passion into our RecoverWe program—creating space for expression, connection, and self-discovery.

I’m passionate about walking alongside others in their recovery—sharing my life experience, mental health journey, and the tools that continue to help me move forward.
