“Choices, Chances, and the Power of Staying”
A discussion between Dr. Joshua Blum & Jereme Maffei (AFRC Peer Recovery Coach):
Dr. Joshua Blum:
Dr. Josh Blum is a compassionate and exemplary provider with a heart-felt passion for Harm Reduction. Previously a co-collaborator with Dë to provide exemplary patient-centered opioid use recovery at one of Denver's largest methadone clinics, Dr. Blum now holds a role as an equality officer for pain and opioid management and works on initiatives to increase access to addiction treatment in the primary care setting. He is co-chair of the Provider Education Workgroup at the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and current ASAM Colorado Chapter President
Jereme Maffei:
I'm a passionate, queer harm reductionist in recovery, deeply committed to the belief that recovery is a unique, personal journey that can take many forms. I moved to Colorado in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the community here. I have over 8 years of experience working in substance use harm reduction; whether it’s inside syringe access programs, running my own organization focused on peer-delivered harm reduction, or even providing services and supplies at music events.
